In recent days, 33-year-old Prince Harry and 36-year-old American actress Meghan Markle announced their engagement. The happy couple met in Summer of 2016 through a mutual friend and have been inseparable ever since.
The Royal family is clearly ecstatic for their engagement. Previously, it was revealed that Ms. Markle would be joining them for Christmas this year—a first in Royal history. Typically, only official family members are welcomed for their extravagant winter holiday traditions (blood or married-in).
Ms. Markle’s family is also extremely happy for the two!
Her parents, who are now divorced, originally issued a combined statement:
"We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together."
Markle’s father reportedly lives a very “quiet life” in Mexico, according to E! News. However, he was recently tracked down by a UK reporter and commented on his daughter’s upcoming wedding.
He said he would “love to” walk his daughter down the aisle, implying that he may be at their wedding next year.
The Prince and his soon-to-be Princess will marry at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May of 2018.
