Meghan Markle's Father Slams His Daughter, Royal Family in New Brutal Interview

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has been viewed as a controversial bride choice for Prince Harry since their public engagement announcement. The former actress, 36, was divorced in 2013, American, and biracial — traits that are not standard for the Royal family’s spouses.

Leading up to their May wedding earlier this year, Meghan’s family also stirred controversy. Both her sister, Samantha, and her father, Thomas Markle, made unsettling remarks to the media.

Previously, Samantha blasted both Prince Harry and her sister on social media. Meghan’s father, on the other hand, held his 15 minutes of fame by refusing to attend his daughter’s wedding and walk her down the aisle. Harry’s father, Prince Charles, gave her away at the altar instead.

Following Markle’s unexpected move, he has continued to speak to the media. In his most recent interview, he slammed both his daughter and the Royal family, reported the Huffington Post.

“I refuse to stay quiet. What riles me is Meghan’s sense of superiority. She’d be nothing without me,” Markle said of his daughter. “I made her the Duchess she is today. Everything that Meghan is, I made her.”

″[The royal family] have Meghan treating her father in a way that Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, would have loathed. That’s not what Diana stood for,” he added.

“What’s sad is that sometime in the next year Meghan and Harry will have a baby and I’ll be a grandfather, and if we’re not speaking I won’t see my grandchild,” Markle stated. “How tragic is that, to deprive a child of its grandfather because I said a few things critical of the Royal Family?”
