Before Becoming a Duchess, Meghan Markle Shared Important Valentine's Day Message

Last year, the world watched with heart-eyes as Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle tied the knot. The royal wedding took place at St. George's Chapel last spring.

As soon as they got engaged, Harry and Meghan's royal love story became the talk of the town. The couple had been set up by a mutual friend and immediately felt a spark.

Prior to her fairytale love story and wedding, however, former "Suits" actress Meghan Markle was spending her Valentine's Days as a single woman. Now, we have been given an inside look into Meghan's feelings from February 14, 2015.

In addition to acting, Meghan had started a popular blog. She used her platform on "The Tig" to share personal thoughts and talk about social justice issues. On February 14, 2015, Meghan used the blog to talk about how she needed to start showing love to herself. The Huffington Post released a section from the post:

She wrote,  "Last season I was chatting with my 'Suits' sister wives, Sarah and Gina, and was in some sort of funk, bemoaning something that was so futile I don't even remember what it was now. But I was faaaaaar from showing [myself] self-love."

She continued, talking about how one of her costars stopped Meghan in her tracks.

The costar said, "'Hey! That's my friend you're talking about. Be nice to her.'"

Because of that statement, Meghan noted that she was going to start paying attention to how she was treating and loving herself. She said that rather than being sad about being single for Valentine's Day, she would focus on the positives. She said that she would spend her day "with friends, running amock through the streets of New York, likely imbibing some cocktail that's oddly pink, and jumping over icy mounds in my new shoes through the salted snowy streets of the West Village."

She continued, "But those shoes, by the way, were my gift to myself. Because I've worked hard, because I'm not going to wait for someone to buy me the things I covet (nor do I want to), and because I want to treat myself as well as I treat those dearest to me. Because I am my own funny Valentine."

Now, four years later, Meghan Markle is living in a different country, has become a Duchess, and has a baby on the way! However, her same message of self-love is still consistent.

What do you think about Meghan Markle's Valentine's Day advice? Do you agree?
