Meghan Markle has been the center of attention in the Royal family for the past few months. The American actress turned Royal has seemed to be really enjoying her new life married to Prince Harry.
However, there is a lot to learn in order to become a member of the Royal family! Meghan is going to be doing a lot of things differently now that she is part of the iconic family. There are many rules she has to abide by, unlike when she was simply an actress.
One of those rules involves personal etiquette, especially in front of the Queen. Recently, Meghan was pictured sitting with her legs to the side. She was quickly blasted online by people who thought her body language was disrespectful to Her Majesty.
"Duchess of Sussex has her legs crossed wrong. What a disrespect to the queen. All royal ladies cross at the ankles or put both legs off to the side," wrote one user online.
"Meghan don't cross your legs Queen doesn't like that," wrote another critic.
However, she didn't only draw negative comments. Many fans of the Royal Family rushed to her defense and stuck up for her seated position.
"Let's focus on the wonderful honourees and NOT legs, dresses or etiquette - these young people deserve more focus," said a fan.
"Pretty sure the Queen is more concerned with Meghan's passion and commitment to the Commonwealth than how she crosses her legs," wrote another fan.
