Meghan Markle might be the Duchess of Sussex, but she's still taking people by surprise. She showed up at the British Fashion Awards at Royal Albert Hall in London in an unannounced appearance.
On Monday night, she arrived at the award show to honor her wedding dress designer: Clare Waight Keller. Keller, the artistic director of Givenchy, received the British Womenswear Designer of the Year award, reported PEOPLE.
Meghan Markle stepped out on stage alongside British actress Rosamund Pike. She cradled her baby bump in the modern black one-shoulder Givenchy black dress. She also wore a sleek low bun.
“It is such an honor to be here celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the U.K.,” Meghan said to cheers from the audience.
Waight Keller also took the opportunity to thank Meghan for letting her design her wedding gown. She thanked her for her trust.
“I got to know Meghan on such a personal level,” the British designer said. “To have someone like that trust you in an incredible moment in their life is something that is just the most unbelievable honor. I can’t thank you enough because it was the most beautiful moment.”
