Newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — formally known to the public as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — are getting ready to pack their bags for an exciting royal trip. On Tuesday, June 19th, Kensington Palace announced that the two will be traveling to Dublin, Ireland.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit Dublin, Ireland on 10th & 11th July,” the palace said in a statement. “The visit is at the request of Her Majesty’s Government.”
“They are looking forward to learning more about Ireland’s history and experiencing its rich culture, as well as meeting the people who are shaping the country’s future,” the statement added.
This isn’t Meghan’s first rodeo. According to PEOPLE, the former actress went to Dublin in 2013 and 2014. She also visited Northern Ireland with her husband (then fiance) ahead of their wedding day.
Royals fans, especially those located near Dublin, were ecstatic to hear the news. Many responded to the palace’s announcement with pure excitement!
Their trip to Ireland isn’t their only destination for upcoming travel plans. In addition, the newly-married couple will travel to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, New Zealand, and Sydney for their royal tour in the fall, reported PEOPLE.
