Meet the Man Who Saved the Crown of Thorns from Inside the Burning Notre Dame Cathedral

The world watched as fire ripped through one of the most iconic buildings in history. Notre Dame Cathedral was horrifically damaged in the blaze and many were shocked to see the historic church go up in smoke.

The church has been around for hundreds of years. In fact, it actually took hundreds of years to complete the iconic structure.

In the aftermath of the flames, stunning images have emerged, We have also heard many stories of bravery from those who were at the scene and witnessed the efforts of first responders to put out the fire.

Now, another incredible story is coming out. The fire brigade chaplain apparently stormed into the burning cathedral to make sure the precious relics for the time of Jesus were saved from destruction.

"Fr Jean-Marc Fournier, chaplain to the Paris Fire Brigade, entered the cathedral while the fire was still burning. Etienne Loraillere, an editor of KTO Catholic television network, said Father Fournier 'went with the firefighters into Notre Dame Cathedral to save the Crown of Thorns and the Blessed Sacrament,'" according to reports.

The actual crown of thorns that was upon the head of Jesus, as well as a piece of the cross and an actual nail, were saved. It was a truly remarkable event.

“He showed no fear at all as he made straight for the relics inside the Cathedral, and made sure they were saved. He deals with life and death every day, and shows no fear," said one witness.
