One of the most popular car manufacturers int he world has just announced they are recalling over 270,000 vehicles for a serious issue! If you drive a Mazda, or know someone who does, you'll want to take this seriously!

According to reports, "Mazda is recalling nearly 270,000 vehicles with Takata airbags that have the potential to explode. Chemicals used to inflate the airbags can deteriorate in some conditions, causing them to deploy with too much force, blowing apart a metal canister that can result in flying shrapnel."

The defect is said to be on the passenger-side airbags of certain models. At this time, Mazda has identified models from 2003-2008 Mazda6, 2006-2007 Mazda speed6 and 2004 MPV vehicles nationwide. It also involves 2005-2006 MPV models in certain states.

The issue is definitely a scary one. Similar airbag issues have caused 22 deaths and over 170 injuries in the United States. It is estimated that there have potentially been 50 million airbag inflators recalled in recent years.

If you believe your car is at risk, please notify a local dealer! This is definitely an issue you don't want to put off for another day. Your life, or a friend or family member's life, could be at stake.
