Authorities from numerous agencies have joined in the search for a non-verbal child. There are more than two dozen search and rescue teams—including the FBI—who have joined the search for a missing 6-year-old boy.
The missing 6-year-old has autism. He lives in Gastonia, North Carolina, according to the Gastonia Police Department.
Maddox Ritch, 6, was last seen on September 22, 2018, at Rankin Lake Park in Gastonia. He was wearing an orange t-shirt and black shorts.
The City of Gastonia spokesperson told WSOC that the boy’s parents said he took off running and then disappeared. The rescue teams are hoping that they'll be able to bring him home safe and sound.
Officials say they have searched more than 1,400 acres in and around the park. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department sent a helicopter, which is searching with infrared technology.
They will continue to search through the night. They are also searching on foot and on ATVs.
The Gastonia Police Chief said the boy’s family is cooperating with law enforcement.
Please pray that this little boy is returned to his family safe and sound. May God guide and protect him.
