3-year-old Mariah Woods from North Carolina is still missing as of Thursday morning, November 30th. She was initially reported missing on Monday morning, sparking a nationwide search for the young child.

Woods’ mother reportedly checked on her Sunday evening around 11:00 PM, then her boyfriend checked on the child around midnight. The next morning when they woke up, she was gone.

Authorities discovered that the back door was unlocked and believe the 3-year-old was abducted from her bedroom. The family is very concerned about the child’s disappearance, especially because she has a walking disability and typically wears orthopedic braces on both of her feet to help her walk straight.

On Tuesday, Woods’ mother Kristy Woods issued a very emotional plea for her daughter’s return. CBS News reported Woods’ statement:

The heartbroken mother publicly stated to her child’s unknown abductor, "Please bring her back. I love her. I'll do anything that I can, whatever you want,” she said as she teared up. “Please just bring her back safe and sound – she's my baby, she's my everything."

However, the 3-year-old’s biological father and Kristy Woods’ ex-husband is questioning the mom’s abduction story. According to CBS, Alex Woods believes something else could have happened to his daughter.

He stated, "Someone just walked right up in there, grabbed the 3-year-old out of the bed and she didn't cry, she didn't scream? Nobody heard anything? Four people in the house, two adults and two kids someone just comes up and snatches the baby and walks out?"

He continued, "I feel like there's something more to it and they're trying to cover it up," implying that the mother and/or boyfriend may be guilty and have something to do with their daughter's sudden disappearance.

"Honestly, I think her boyfriend got mad or Kristy got mad and Mariah woke up and was crying, fussing...they got mad because they got anger problems...and they might have smacked her...hurt her...maybe hurt her more than just a smack, maybe panicked, maybe done something bad with her. That's what we're thinking. The other two stories don't add up."

Alex Woods is also the father of Mariah’s two brothers, who were at the home when their sister was abducted. The ex-couple has previously been involved in custody battles; however, Alex has not seen his daughter in more than a year.
