Mariah Carey Postpones Christmas Tour Due to Concerns Over Health

Mariah Carey announced that she has no choice but to cancel three more shows of her “All I Want For Christmas Is You” tour due to a health concern. She announced on Friday that doctors had advised her she needed a few more days of rest before starting the tour.

According to Fox News, her ailment stems from a respiratory infection. Carey expressed deep gratitude to her fans and expressed her thankfulness for spending Thanksgiving with her loved ones. She also expressed thanks for her overall health. 

“I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones; it’s certainly nice to remember what we are grateful for! Like most, I’m thankful for my overall health… for which I need a bit more time to get right,” said Carey on her website and social media pages. 

She went on to explain that doctors have ordered her to rest for a few more days before she flies to New York to perform. She again expressed thanks for the fact that she is healing, and for all her fan base who have supported her.

“Doctors have ordered a few extra days of rest before I can finally fly to New York and take the stage for my Christmas Tour. While this news disappoints me to share, I am grateful to be on the mend and for the support from all of you—it means the world to me! See you from the stage soon darlings!”

Carey was supposed to star the tour on November 17 in Windsor, Ontario, but that date was postponed to her respiratory illness. The shows that were originally scheduled in New York City on November 24, 28 and December 1 have been rescheduled to take place on December 2, 4 and 5.

After that she will head to the United Kingdom for two shows, Then she will head west to Las Vegas for five shows.
