A California man has been arrested on Federal smuggling charges. What he was trying to sneak past officials will make your skin crawl!

34-year-old Rodrigo Franco was attempting to smuggle in three king cobras hidden potato chip cans, while they were still alive! The snakes were discovered when customs officers intercepted the shipment containing the snake-filled canisters.

The incident happened in March, which is when Franco was arrested for illegally importing merchandise. His arraignment was scheduled for last Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles.

According to the Washington Post, "Customs and Border Protection officers inspected a package that was mailed from Hong Kong. There were also three albino Chinese soft-shelled turtles in the package."

Agents served a search warrant to search Franco's home which is when they realized importing animals was nothing new to Franco. They discovered a live baby Morelet’s crocodile, alligator, snapping turtles, a common snapping turtle, and five diamond back terrapins all at his residence.

Franco also admitted to authorities he had previously received two other shipments containing 20 king cobras in total. Unfortunately, all of them had died in transit. If Franco is convicted, he could spend up to 20 years in prison.

What do you think about him transporting all these animals? In other shocking news, President Trump has just made a bold move when it comes to transgenders in the military. Check out the story here to hear his reasoning behind his stance on this huge issue.
