Man Rushed to Hospital After Massive Heart Attack, Miracle Crew Steps in Big Time

Gene Work and his wife Melissa were told by their HOA that they needed to fix their grass or else face a fine. Gene had to sell his finest gun to pay for the sod to replace the grass.

While they were working in the Florida heat, he suddenly suffered a massive heart attack. While he lay on the ground, waiting for the ambulance, he kept telling Melissa what to do next, worried that unless the sod was put down quickly, it would dry out.

“It’s ALL he kept asking about literally during a massive heart attack. LOL,” Melissa wrote on her post, according to ABC Local 10. “I calmed him down and kept saying ‘Jesus will help us. It’s ok. Jesus will figure this out babe.’”

While Gene was rushed away in an ambulance, the only way to finish the project was to have his wife finish it alone, or with the help of her brother. Melissa is due for a bone marrow transplant next month. Then a miracle happened.

A seven-member crew returned to their home Saturday evening to help finish the project. They were the firefighters and emergency personnel who had responded to the heart attack.

"They came back because they knew Gene was in serious trouble and they wanted to lay the new sod so it didn't die." wrote Melissa on her post. "They knew he wouldn't be able to do any work for weeks so they came back."

“They simply saw someone in need, something in need and did this for us,” she added. “This wasn’t in their job description. We have no words. Just sobbing.”

“PLEASE help us get these men honored! PLEASE help us find them so we can thank them!!!”
