The American people were in shock earlier this year when the news broke that a 5-year-old boy was thrown off a third-floor balcony in the Mall of America. The young boy, who was later identified as Landen, was allegedly chosen at random by suspect Emmanuel Aranda.

Aranda, 24, went to the mall that day “planning to kill someone, but it didn’t work out.” While Landen was walking with his family, Aranda grabbed him and aggressively tossed him 40 feet below.

Thankfully, by the grace of God, the young boy had a truly miraculous recovery. Even after his three-story fall, little Landen suffered no critical injuries; he was free from brain swelling, spinal cord injuries, and nerve damage.

Aranda was charged with first-degree premeditated attempted murder. According to ABC News, Aranda pled guilty and accepted a plea deal, which will require him to serve a prison sentence of 19 years.

His sentencing reportedly begins on June 3rd of this year. Landen’s family was in agreement with the plea deal.

Please continue to pray for Landen and his family as they recover from these circumstances. May God continue to use their story for His glory.
