Aaron Carter, 90’s teen heartthrob who has recently re-entered the music scene, came out of the closet on August 5th. In an announcement to his fans, he said he had to get something “important for himself and his identity” off of his chest.

Carter stated, “I grew up in this entertainment industry at a very young age and when I was around 13-years-old I started to find boys and girls attractive. There were years that went by that I thought about it, but it wasn’t until I was 17-years old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with.”

He clarified that he is not ashamed, but wanted to inform his fans. Aside from his love for music, he just wants to be “satisfied” and not a “disappointment.”

Prior to this unexpected announcement, Carter did have a girlfriend named Maddison Parker. The two were arrested earlier this Summer for DUI and drug possession. It is unclear if the two are still dating; however, her Twitter username is no longer existent.

This announcement comes shortly after the singer expressed his public support for the LGBT community. Following President Trump’s transgender ban in the military, Aaron Carter publicly spoke out against Trump and in support of transgender rights.
