As Americans, we love our pets. Millions of people across the nation take pride in caring for their four-legged creatures. Some people even go to extremes and have exotic animals as their pets!
However, in caring for our furry friends we need to make sure we're not putting them in any danger. Sadly, a new dog food recall has just hit the media and has scared millions of owners.
According to reports, four brands of dog food have been recalled after reports of five animals, one kitten, and two humans have gotten sick or died from contact with salmonella. The news has rocked the pet food industry.
Recalls have been issued for items manufactured by Arrow Reliance between October 17, 2016, and February 10, 2018. The below products are the food being recalled:
-Smokehouse Four-ounce bags Beefy Munchies
-Raws for Paws Ground Turkey Pet Food
-Redbarn seven-inch Bully Stick three pack
-Arrow Reliance ZooLogics Duck with Vegetable Meals for Dogs and ZooLogics Chicken with Vegetable Meals for Dogs
Please stop feeding your animal any of these products and return it as soon as possible for a refund. Also, make sure you know the warning signs of salmonella. According to reports, animals can experience vomiting, diarrhea, fever, loss of appetite, and lethargy, but the real danger is that they can pass on the bacteria to humans after it passes through their body.
