A legendary American musician has sadly passed away. Fans across the nation, and the world, are now mourning his death.
According to reports, Ed King has died at his home in Nashville. He was 68 years old.
King is known best for being the guitarist for Lynard Skynyrd. He also co-wrote the famous hit song "Sweet Home Alabama" as well.
"King, 68, played guitar for Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1972-75 and 1987-1996. He co-wrote the Southern rock band's classic 'Sweet Home Alabama,' and that's his voice counting off the 'One, two, three...' that launches the song. ," reported the USA Today.
"My Grandfather, Ed King, passed away last night. He lived one hell of a life and he left behind a lot of people who cared for him including my father. It truly was a blessing to have had the chance to spend time with him a little over a year ago. #Edking," wrote King's granddaughter on Twitter.
