One of the most iconic car manufacturers has just made a major announcement. According to reports, Porsche has issued a huge recall that is impacting thousands of customers.
The company has announced they are issuing two recalls. The defective discoveries are causing a lot of inconvenience for drivers.
"One recall affects 2017-2019 Cayenne SUVs and Panamera sedans. Drivers may not be warned as expected when the brake pads have worn out, putting them at risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Dealers will correct the problem by updating the instrument cluster software," reported Consumer Reports.
Luckily, no injuries or deaths have been reported at this time due to the recall. The company is currently working to notify all owners about the serious issues facing their cars.
"Separately, Porsche is recalling 14,388 of its 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman sports cars because a piece of the luggage compartment bracket can detach in a crash and lead to a fuel leak. NHTSA says a leak was discovered during a frontal crash test conducted in February. Fuel leaks raise the risk of a fire, NHTSA says," according to the report.
The company is offering to make all the needed repairs free of charge. At this time, owners may call Porsche customer service at 800-767-7243 with any questions.
