A tragic story has just occurred after a home caught fire in Florida. Officials arrived on the scene and did their best to put out the flames.
One woman had managed to escape the blaze. She soon realized her children were still trapped in the home. She ran back into the inferno in an attempt to save them, however, the mother and her two children never made it out.
"Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a two-alarm fire at the Captiva Club Apartments in Town 'n' Country, Fla., at around 3:30 a.m. where they found an eight-unit block of the complex was engulfed in flames, causing one of the building’s walls to collapse," reported Fox.
Firefighters worked the scene from outside the blaze as quickly as possible. After battling the fire for 45 minutes, they were able to knock it down enough to enter the building. Once inside, the first responders found three bodies.
"For a mother's love to go back in and know that [her] children may be inside -- not knowing that they were inside -- but they may be inside...she lost her life because of it,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “Is there any greater actions of love than the one displayed by this mother today?"
The cause of the fire is now under investigation. Please join us in sending love and prayers for this family and for all who knew them.
