Just when things couldn't get any worse for the residents of North Carolina facing hurricane Florence, things have taken a turn for the worse. It has just been reported that looters have now taken advantage of the devastating situation.
According to Fox News, police have arrested five people after looters began to break into stores. On Saturday, Wilmington police confirmed the arrests were made and charges were pending.
Following the arrests of the suspected criminals, a curfew has now been put in place. "In response to looting in the area, an extended curfew is now in place for the block between 13th, 14th, Greenfield and Martin Streets. This curfew went into effect at 5 pm and will remain in effect until 6 am. The citywide curfew will run from 10 pm until 6 am," the tweet from the local police department read.
