The USDA posted another ‘high health risk’ recall alert related to Listeria contamination on May 25th 2017 for frozen breakfast entrees. Golden Gourmet is recalling roughly 5,248 pound of their frozen waffles with turkey sausage meals.

The products were distributed to various states near the South including Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. The bacteria was discovered through the company’s waffle supplier testing, so as of right now, no consumers have reported illnesses from any of the listed states.

The USDA mentioned, “FSIS and the company are concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers.” In order to prevent any illnesses from occurring, the USDA is requesting all consumers to throw these products away or return them to the place of purchase.
