The cause of death for actress Lisa Sheridan has been revealed. The news comes more than two months after the actress, who appeared in Invasion and Halt and Catch Fire, died.

The press passed away at the age of 44. Details of her death have been disclosed by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office.

Sheridan died of “complications of chronic alcoholism” and the manner was “natural,” the Coroner’s Office confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday. Sheridan also had a “reported history of benzodiazepine abuse.”

Benzodiazepines are “a type of prescription sedative commonly prescribed for anxiety or to help with insomnia,” the National Institute on Drug Abuse website states.

In addition to the substance abuse, she also suffered a “remote brain injury” as a result of a fall, according to the autopsy. It seemed she had a myriad of health issues; she was found dead on February 25 with “hyperinflated” lungs and cyst on her right ovary.

At the end of February, Sheridan’s manager, Mitch Clem, confirmed her death to PEOPLE.

“We all loved Lisa very much and are devastated by the loss we all feel,” Clem told PEOPLE. “She passed away Monday morning, at home, in her apartment in New Orleans. We are waiting for a coroners report on cause of death.”

Her manager denied that she had taken her own life.

Clem denied Sheridan had taken her own life: “The family has unequivocally confirmed that this is not a suicide. Any suggestion to the contrary is absolutely, 100% unfounded.”

The actress’ television credits also include Legacy, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Journeyman and The Mentalist, among others.

Please pray for the actress' family as they deal with her loss.
