During the joint press conference between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Putin handed Trump an unexpected gift. He gave him a soccer ball.
“Now the ball is in your court,” Putin told Trump as he handed him a soccer ball — referencing the United States hosting the famous World Cup event in 2026. Russia recently hosted the World Cup, which was won by France.
As President Trump took the ball, he lightly responded, “Thank you very much. We do host it, and we hope we do as good of a job. That’s very nice. That will go to my son Barron."
He then tossed the ball to his wife adding, "In fact, Melania — here you go!” Melania gladly accepted the ball with a smile.
At first, liberals were angry that Trump tossed the ball at her wife rather than handing it to her. They thought it was disrespectful.
But now it's getting blown out of proportion even more. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham tweeted on Monday that the ball might be a bug designed to get the Russians access to the White House.
"If it were me, I’d check the soccer ball for listening devices and never allow it in the White House," Graham tweeted.
Graham isn't the only one to suggest that the soccer ball is bugged. Others have taken to Twitter to say the same thing.
Graham also expressed his displeasure with the way that President Trump handled the press conference and presumably one-on-one meeting with Trump. He said President Trump showed "weakness."
He wrote, "Missed opportunity by President Trump to firmly hold Russia accountable for 2016 meddling and deliver a strong warning regarding future elections."
However, he clarified that he doesn't believe President Trump colluded with Russia to win his election. Rather, he thinks Russia meddled.
Do you think there's any chance the ball was bugged or is Graham being ridiculous? In other Trump news, there's a viral photo of Trump from England that can't be missed. You have to see his face when he's looking at Melania.
