The world of Hollywood has lost some big-name stars in recent months. Sadly, the entertainment industry has just lost another wonderful actor.
Derrick O'Connor has just passed away. He was 77 years old at the time of his death. Please join us in praying for his family and friends as they endure this difficult time.
Derrick was an Irish actor who is best known for his work on the "Lethal Weapon" film, among others. He died of pneumonia at his home in Santa Barbara, California.
Page Six reported that O’Connor’s decades-long career included memorable film performances in “Lethal Weapon 2,” roles in Gilliam’s films “Time Bandits,” “Brazil” and “Jabberwocky,” as Thomas Aquinas opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in “End of Days,” as an aspiring buccaneer in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” and in John Boorman’s “Hope and Glory.”
Outside of the film world Derrick also starred in numerous theatrical productions. He was also a distinguished member of both the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Scottish National Theatre, with multiple lead stage roles in Edinburgh, Stratford-on-Avon and London’s West End, reported Page Six.
Derrick has been living in America for the majority of his life since the early 1990s. He is survived by his wife and son, Max. A private funeral is being arranged in his honor in San Francisco.
