Fans are heartbroken after learning that professional athlete Leon White — a famous wrestling star widely known as “Vader” — passed away at 63 years old. White’s family made the sad announcement Wednesday morning in a social media statement.
“It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone that my father, Leon White, passed away on Monday night (6/18/18) at approximately 7:25 PM,” White’s son, Jesse, announced.
“Around a month ago my father was diagnosed with a severe case of Pneumonia,” Jesse added. “He fought extremely hard and clinically was making progress. Unfortunately, on Monday night his heart had enough and it was his time.”
During the prime time of his wrestling career, White took home several championship titles in All Japan Pro Wrestling, the Universal Wrestling Federation, and other organizations, reported Wrestling News. In 1996, he was abducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in recognition of his great accomplishments.
Many fans and others in the professional wrestling world paid a heartwarming tribute to the late sports star.
