A legendary musician has just passed away. Oliver Mtukudzi, best known for his iconic jazz music, has taken his final breath.
"Mtukudzi's record label Gallo Records confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon but said there were no details available. The musician's family is yet to appoint an official spokesperson and will probably only release a statement once they've done so," reported Times Live.
Social media was quickly flooded with tributes to the late musician. Fans from across the globe remembered his music and expressed their condolences. It is clear that he was loved by many people throughout his lifetime.
Olive had a long and successful career. He released more records during his life than many other artists. His last album came out last year and put him at a whopping 67 albums for his career. The video below highlights his musical talents.
"My 67th album is meant to share a message of introspecting and I'm hoping people learn a thing or two from it. It's an album I wrote last year after I realized that the world keeps getting tangled up in 'unnecessary' problems. All because we are focused on competing and being better than the next person. In so doing we keep stepping on each other's toes but that is not how God created us. God meant for us to compliment each other, that's why he didn't duplicate talent," he said a year ago as he released his 67th album.
Please join us in praying for all of Oliver's friends and family as they mourn his loss. We pray for God's healing comfort to surround them during this sad time.
