Legendary British Actor Dies at Age 90

Writers, television stars, and fans are paying tribute to an iconic British actor after his passing was recently announced. According to reports, Peter Wyngarde has passed away. He was 90 years of age at the time of his death.

"Wyngarde was best known for his role as the author and sleuth Jason King in Department S and the spin-off that followed. The character was summed up by one of the most famous lines from the show: 'A bit too early for coffee ... I think I’ll have Scotch,'" according to The Guardian.

Peter was a famous actor in numerous cult television shows. It was also reported that the character of Austin Powers was based on Peter's portrayal of a British spy during the 1970s.


“He was one of the most unique, original and creative actors that I have ever seen," said his manager and agent, Thomas Bowington.




Peter passed away at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. He had been declining in health in recent months. Even though he was in his 90s, it was reported that he had numerous acting gigs lined up in the coming months.
