Grammy-nominated music artist Ermias Asghedom, best known by his stage name Nipsey Hussle, was recently shot and killed at only 33 years old. Fans, family, and fellow music artists have been mourning his death since the tragic news broke several weeks ago.
This tragedy was covered by major news networks in the days following. However, conservative-leaning networks brought attention to Hussle’s song “F--- Donald Trump,” which was released around the time of the 2016 presidential election.
In the song, Hussle bashes President Donald Trump and his supporters. The lyrics refer to Trump as a racist, and insist that his supporters are “on dope [drugs]” for voting for him.
Fox New Host Laura Ingraham, who hosts “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox, was one conservative voice who covered Hussle’s memorial while bringing up the “F--- Donald Trump” song.
"OK, that's a very creative refrain," Ingraham said on her show. "The chorus that goes on and on, is that related to lowest unemployment ever, basically, for African-Americans?"
Hussle-supporting celebrities and friends, including music artists T.I., The Game, and Snoop Dogg, were outraged at Ingraham’s remarks. They referred to them as “disrespectful” and “disgusting.” The rappers even called for Fox News to terminate her over her remarks, according to CNN.
