President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and his four adult children were hosted for a state banquet at Buckingham Palace. There were 171 guests at the dinner including his son Eric and his wife Lara Trump

Lara is expecting the couple's first child. She wore a gorgeous black and white flowered gown.

Eric posted a sweet photo of him and his wife. He wrote in the caption, "Buckingham Palace" before adding American and English flag emojis.

Later in the evening, Ivanka Trump posted a photo of her and her siblings at the banquet. She wrote, "Beyond wonderful to share this unforgettable evening with this crew..."

The menu for the banquet includes steamed fillet of halibut with watercress mousse, asparagus spears and chervil sauce, as well as new season Windsor lamb with herb stuffing, spring vegetables, and port sauce. For dessert, they’ll be served strawberry sable with lemon verbena cream, fresh fruits, petit fours, and coffee.

According to PEOPLE, "Trump was seated between Queen Elizabeth and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at the head of the table, with Prince Charles on his mother’s left. Next to Charles was Mrs. Trump. Taking their seats on opposite sides at the corners of the table were Prince William, seated between Prime Minister Theresa May and the U.S. ambassador’s wife Suzanne Johnson, and Kate, who was between the Lord Mayor of London, Peter Estlin, and Steven T. Mnuchin."

Both President Trump and Queen Elizabeth made speeches. In their speeches, they spoke about America and Great Britain's shared history, mores, and values.

“As we face the new challenges of the 21st century, the anniversary of D-Day reminds us of all that our countries have achieved together,” the Queen said.

She continued: “After the shared sacrifices of the Second World War, Britain and the United States worked with other allies to build an assembly of international institutions, to ensure that the horrors of conflict would never be repeated. While the world has changed, we are forever mindful of the original purpose of these structures: nations working together to safeguard a hard won peace.”

Speaking after her toast, the president echoed that sentiment. He remembered their shared battles.

“This evening, we thank God for the brave sons of the United Kingdom and the United States who defeated the Nazis and the Nazi regime and liberated millions from tyranny. The bond between our nations was forever sealed in that great crusade.”

This was part of the first day of the American three day state visit.
