Over the last year, several prominent celebrities have taken their own lives. In a world filled with depression and anxiety, it seems that sad news of this nature is around every corner.

Over the weekend, another celebrity was found dead in his home. According to TMZ, “Young and the Restless” star Kristoff St. John has passed away.

According to law enforcement, the beloved actor died at his home in San Fernando Valley. One of his friends had gone to the house to check on him. Sadly, after police and paramedics were alerted to what had happened, the actor was pronounced dead on the scene.

TMZ reported that no signs of foul play were discovered. However, they did note that it was most likely that alcohol was involved.

Kristoff St. John began his iconic role on “Young and the Restless” in 1991. Through that show, he personally earned 9 Daytime Emmy Award nominations and 10 NAACP Image Awards.

Unfortunately, Kristoff was no stranger to suicide. His son, Julian, took his own life in 2014. At the time, Julian was receiving treatment at a mental health facility.

Following his son’s death, Kristoff and his ex-wife, Mia, founded the El Sabert es Poder (Knowledge is Power) Foundation. The goal with it was to address and battle mental illness.

Sadly, Kristoff has now been found dead at the age of 52. As soon as the tragic news was confirmed, thousands of people around the nation took to social media to share tributes:
