Kirk Cameron Takes to the Big Screen to Address Nation's Deepest Plague

On Tuesday, October 24, Kirk Cameron is putting his faith on display once again. He is joining with other Christian leaders for a national night of prayer and worship.

Last year, Cameron hosted "Revive Us," a gathering in theaters across America. It was a "national family meeting" focused on prayer, worship, and putting faith into action.

The event was successful, with over 150,000 believers gathering together. Now, a year later, Cameron and others are putting on "Revive Us 2."

The live show will air at over 800 theaters across the nation. The live filming will take place in Washington D.C. and will include prominent voices in Christianity including Kirk Cameron, Dr. Ben Carson, Alex and Stephen Kendrick, Ravi Zacharias, Joni Eareckson Tada, and Zach Williams.

The "Revive Us 2" website talks about the goal of the event. It says, "With political, racial, economic, and religious tensions increasing each day in America, Kirk explores UNITY and the path on how to get there. REVIVE US 2 offers a faith-filled solution for everyone."

Cameron told CBN, "Here we are a year later, it's 'Revive Us 2' and we're meeting because it seems that our nation is very divided. We hear it all the time. We're being divided about race, about religion, about politics, about gender, about choice. We have so many things causing anxiety like hurricanes and wildfires and tragedies in Las Vegas. We need a path to unity."

Cameron said to think of the event as a "giant revival meeting." He talked about how people used to bring a big white tent somewhere to host a revival meeting, and that this event is simply a gathering of 800 tents that are movie theaters "all connected through satellite."

Anyone can attend a local theater to watch the live film and participate in this Christian event. Tickets can be prepurchased on the movie's website.

The show will air across the nation on Tuesday, October 24. If the show does well, there will be an encore on November 1.

Candace Cameron Bure, Kirk Cameron's sister, posted on her Instagram account to promote the event.
