Kim Davis Freed From Jail As Huckabee And Cruz Show Up In Support

Finally!  Kim Davis has been freed from her unjust imprisonment!

Since she was jailed last week for her practicing her Christian faith, there has been outrage and deep concern amongst people of faith and supporters of the constitution.  Her persecution has become a rallying point for the conservative presidential candidates.

According to this Fox news article, Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz rolled into town today to rally the conservatives and Christians around the country to stand behind Kim Davis and to bring attention to the persecution of religious liberty.

Just before the conservative heavyweights showed up to protest Judge David Bunning’s aggressive actions, Judge Bunning ordered Kim Davis released from jail.

In the release order, Bunning wrote, “Defendant Davis shall be released from the custody of the U.S. Marshal forthwith.  Defendant Davis shall not interfere in any way, directly or indirectly, with the efforts of her deputy clerks to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples.  If Defendant Davis should interfere in any way with their issuance, that will be considered a violation of this order and appropriate sanctions will be considered.”

Bunning also noted that the court is satisfied that since Davis was jailed, 5 of her 6 deputies have stated under oath that they will issue marriage licenses to all eligible couples.

An attorney for Davis, Mat Staver, said that despite her release “she loves God, she loves people, she loves her work – and she will not betray any of those three”

After her release, Davis met with both Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz.  Cruz posted this on his twitter feed after her release:
