After a little over two years of scaled-back events due to COVID-19, fashion’s biggest names returned to the Big Apple, packing the schedule with back-to-back shows that were as immense as ever. Serena WilliamsFans were stunned when she opened the Vogue WorldMonday, September 12, 2012 runway show The 40-year old tennis champion stunned in a metallic Balenciaga dress with a floor-length cape. Making the moment even more iconic, four “ball girls” dressed in tennis outfits followed behind Williams. The athlete’s appearance came after she played in the final match of her career at the U.S. Open on September 3. (She announced that she would be retiring in August.
Vogue Runway showcased looks from its fall 2022 collections for its inaugural presentation.
Kardashian, 41, attended Fendi spring 2023 on Friday, September 9th, stepping out with a close friend. La La Anthony. For the preview, which marked the 25th anniversary of the Italian label’s Baguette bag, the SelfishThe author looked stunning in a sparkling gown and block heels. Anthony, 41, was stunning in a slip gown from the fashion house that she paired with a fuzzy coat as well as slouchy Fendi booties.
Parker, 57, was also in attendance — after all, the Baguette was made famous thanks to her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw. The Ohio native looked timeless wearing a patterned button-up, paired with a silk skirt, and velvet pumps. The show was presented by Kim Jones, also featured two surprises: Marc Jacobs’ collaboration and an appearance from Linda Evangelista. The 57 year-old supermodel, who famously said she had suffered a CoolSculpting incident, returned to the runway to close the show for the first time in 15 years.
“I thought, ‘Let’s do the show here [in New York], and let’s add in a few curveballs as we always do,’” Jones said, per Vogue.
Tommy Hilfiger’s star-studded show was also on display at NYFW. The brand didn’t let the showers stop the party on Sunday, September 11. In collaboration with Richard Quinn and Skyline Drive-In Brooklyn, the brand took control of the Skyline Drive-In to deliver a fashionable night to be remembered. As models — including Julia Fox — strutted their stuff in classic sweaters and flannel-adorned puffer coats, Kourtney Kardashian, Travis BarkerMoss, 48. Shawn MendesThe front row was the best place to watch. The “Mercy” musician later closed out the show with a performance.
