A tragic story recently emerged out of northern Florida. Three children — two girls ages 1 and 4, and a 6-year-old boy — were reportedly found dead in a freezer.

According to The Daily Beast, the three kids were playing outside when one mother briefly left to use the restroom. When she came back outside, the kids were nowhere to be found.

Their sudden disappearance sparked a “frantic search,” which led to the three young children being discovered in an unplugged freezer. Sadly, all three kids were not breathing.

They were taken to the hospital for care immediately, but unfortunately, could not be revived. Their cause of death is unknown; an autopsy report is being conducted.

Authorities suspect the kids climbed into the freezer while playing, but could not escape when the lid was closed shut. Although no foul play is suspected at this time, the possibility of charges being filed has reportedly not been ruled out, reported CNN.

No other details were immediately released. This story is developing and will be updated accordingly.

Please pray for the children's’ families. May God bring them peace and comfort from this tragic accident.
