Kathie Lee Gifford fans were ecstatic on Thursday, May 3rd after exciting news was released about the TODAY co-host. Gifford announced that she is working on a new project — a movie!
“I am beyond thrilled to announce the project I’m about to film with Craig Ferguson!” Gifford told her fans Thursday morning.
Gifford wrote and is starring in the film, “Love Me To Death,” alongside Ferguson — a well-known actor who has starred in several films including “Saving Grace,” “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” and others.
Gifford’s upcoming movie has a storyline near and dear to her heart. The main character, played by Gifford, is a widow — just like herself. Gifford’s husband, Frank, passed away in 2015.
“[The movie] follows Annabelle (Gifford), a lonely widow who plans a trip around the world, with her husband’s ashes in tow, to visit the places they loved in the movies. When she arrives at the Inn in Loch Lomond, run by a curmudgeonly Scotsman (Ferguson), the first stop on the journey changes her life forever, as a family secret is revealed, one wedding is derailed, another is planned, and two unlikely people get a second chance at love,” reported Deadline.
Filming will reportedly begin in Scotland during June of 2018. A release date has not yet been provided.
Many of Gifford’s fans sent their congratulations via Twitter.
