Kate Middleton never disappoints with her outfit choices, and her Royal Ascot outfit is no exception. She accompanied Prince William to the highly anticipated event in a beautiful blue dress.
The Royal Ascot is an annual five-day horse race. The future king and queen joined Queen Elizabeth at the event.
For the opening day of the races, Kate wore a cornflower blue dress with sheer sleeves. The dress is a long-sleeved version of a design by Elie Saab.
She paired the dress with a matching hat designed by Philip Treacy. The hat had a flower detail that echoed the cornflower blue of the dress.
Kate wasn't the only one sporting blue for the event. The Queen, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall all showed up in various shades of blue.
This is an event that Queen Elizabeth attends with her family and friends. In her welcoming remarks to racegoers in this year’s Royal Ascot program, the Queen calls the event “one of the sporting events that I have been fortunate to enjoy throughout my life.”
She adds, “The best horses and jockeys from across the globe are increasingly drawn to Royal Ascot, and it is truly exciting to welcome competitors from overseas, as strong international competition always adds further interest and fascination.”
