The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have had an exciting, yet busy year after welcoming their third child, Prince Louis, in April. Prior to Louis’ debut, the two already had their hands full with 5-year-old Prince George and 3-year-old Princess Charlotte.
Since Louis’ arrival, Duchess Kate Middleton has been on maternity leave. Although she has made a few public appearances — including her youngest son’s christening ceremony — since Louis was born, the Duchess has spent the majority of the last several weeks at home.
However, on Wednesday, September 26th, Kensington Palace confirmed that Middleton is set to make her public return. According to PEOPLE, she will officially be ending her maternity leave with her next public appearance.
Duchess Kate will visit the Sayers Croft Trust Forest School and Wildlife Garden next week. At the royal event, she will meet local children and have the opportunity to learn about the school’s role in introducing students to nature.
“The Duchess of Cambridge will visit the Sayers Croft Trust Forest School and Wildlife Garden at Paddington Recreation Ground on Tuesday 2nd October,” the palace said in a statement.
Royals fans were ecstatic to hear the news. Given that she has been fairly absent from the public eye, people are anxious for an update on the wildly famous Duchess.
Meanwhile, her husband has stayed fairly active with his regular royal duties. In recent days, Prince William paid a special visit to Acorns Hospice, where he met several children and families. He also traveled to Namibia for a series of special events.
