An NFL star running back has just found his hope in our Lord after an amazing weekend. Kareem Hunt was baptized this past Sunday at a church in Cleveland.
Hunt currently plays for the Cleveland Browns. He previously played in Kansas City but was released by the team. There has been a lot of controversies surrounds his career after an old video emerged showing him assaulting a woman at a hotel.
"The 23-year-old’s baptism comes months after he was released by the Kansas City Chiefs over the assault, which took place at a Cleveland hotel. Surveillance footage showed him shoving and then kicking a woman while she was on the ground. The Browns signed Hunt in February," reported Fox News.
Hunt's coach, along with the General Manager for the team, witnessed his baptism and came to support him. Despite the horrible situation that is still taking place off the field, it was great to see an NFL superstar put his faith in the Lord and set a Christian example for young fans.
"Hunt was baptized at True Vine Baptist Church in Cleveland and John Dorsey and Freddie Kitchens made a surprise appearance at the ceremony. Hunt has said he turned his life toward religion after he was accused of beating a woman at a hotel last year, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer," reported Fox News.
Please join us in continuing to pray for Hunt, as well as the woman in the video. We pray they both find love and faith through God's word. Hunt said he hasn't spoken to the woman since the video was released but that he would like to apologize if given the opportunity.
