Officials have just announced they are charging the ex-wife of a former NBA player with his murder. The charges come nearly seven years after the incident took place.

Memphis Police Director Michael Rallings said Saturday that Sherra Wright has been charged in the death of her ex-husband, a Memphis native who played for five teams over 13 seasons as a forward and center in the NBA, according to ESPN.

Wright was arrested on Friday night. Her ex-husband's body was found in 2010, 10 days after he disappeared. According to officials, the NBA star had been shot numerous times.

Police are now reporting to have found the murder weapon used in the crime. They apparently found the gun in a lake roughly 75 miles from Memphis.

Billy Turner, an alleged landscaper for the Wrights, has also been charged with the murder. At this time, he has pleaded not guilty. Officials are investigating a relationship between the deceased's wife and Turner.
