Fans are disappointed after news broke that recording artist and reality television star Juelz Santana, 36, is potentially facing up to 20 years in prison. The news was released on Thursday, August 16th.

Santana, whose birth name is LaRon James, has released several hit songs and is a regular on the reality series “Love & Hip Hop: New York.” Additionally, he has landed supporting roles in several films including “State Property 2” and “Video Girl.”

According to Fox News, the rapper recently pleaded guilty to a felony firearm charge that occurred earlier this year. Santana was arrested at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport in March for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft.

A loaded .38-caliber handgun and nonprescription oxycodone pills were discovered in the music artist’s carry-on bag along with his identification. He allegedly fled the scene without his bags but turned himself in a few days after the incident.

Ahead of his court appearance on Thursday, Santana has been out on bail with the freedom to perform concerts and film episodes of “Love & Hip Hop.”

His sentencing will take place on December 12th of this year. In the meantime, a plea deal is reportedly in the works.

This is not Santana’s first run-in with the law. Previously, he has faced several other firearm and disorderly conduct charges.

In other celebrity news, another music artist was just escorted out of his own birthday in handcuffs. He was arrested for a felony weapon charge.
