President found an unlikely ally in Meghan Mccain on Monday's episode of "The View." McCain came to his defense when her co-host Joy Behar started to bash Trump rather than talking about former President George H.W. Bush.
During a segment on the show designed to honor the late president, co-host Abby Huntsman said she wished future generations would "learn from him." Behar took this as an opportunity to criticize President Trump.
"This president that we have now is trying to unravel everything that [Bush] did and Obama did," interjected Behar. "And if I ever become a one-issue voter, it will be about pollution and the greenhouse effect."
Meghan McCain wasn't having any of it. She interrupted Behar saying, "Can we focus on [Bush], please? I don’t want to talk about Trump when we're in the moment of honoring a great president who passed."
Behar responded: "Excuse me. Excuse me a second, please, I want to talk about the differences!"
"I'm not interested in your one-issue voter" started McCain.
"I don’t care what you’re interested in, I’m talking!" interrupted Behar.
Meeting Behar's tone, McCain responded, "I don't care what you’re interested in, either!"
The two continued to argue until co-host Whoopi Goldberg ended the segment and went to a commercial break. However, the drama didn't stop then. According to a source, Behar continued to cuss out McCain.
A source told The Daily Mail that just as the show went to commercial, Behar slammed her comment cards and turned to yell at McCain. The producers muted her mic so that her swear words wouldn't make it on air.
Behar reportedly threw her hands in the air, yelled "Get this b**** under control," before adding, "If this s*** doesn't stop I'm quitting this d*** show. I can't take this much more."
Producers on stage to try to calm down the two co-hosts. However, Behar's rant couldn't be stopped.
"I've tolerated a lot of s*** on this show but I'm at my wits' end with this entitled b****. Enough already! Enough already! I'm not playing nice any longer." Meanwhile, the studio audience could hear everything Behar said.
"I don't know why she's so upset," McCain reportedly replied. "I just wanted her to focus on President Bush and not bring Trump into this for once."
The source added: "Everyone was frantic. The last thing they wanted was for Joy to walk off the show. She's done that before. Remember the Bill O'Reilly situation? She appeared just as disgusted as she did that day and they only had two minutes to contain this explosion on set and get everyone positioned to return for the next live segment. It was utter chaos on set."
