With all of the scandals in Hollywood recently, it’s so refreshing to see uplifting news in the industry. Wedding ceremonies and exciting baby news are sure to ease the public’s frustration with the multiple sexual harassment stories circulating the media—especially this one.
Famous singer Jordin Sparks, well-known for her Christian faith, confirmed to PEOPLE on Tuesday, November 14th that she and rising model Dana Isaiah secretly eloped in Hawaii earlier this year with a group of close friends. The happy couple has been married since July 16th.
Roughly one month later in August, Sparks found out that she was pregnant. Once they overcame the “initial shock” of the sudden change, the two became very excited to start their family together.
The story of how their love sparked is truly heartwarming.
Before the "No Air" singer and Isaiah officially met, their mothers knew each other. According to PEOPLE, Isaiah was planning to move to Los Angeles to pursue his modeling career in early 2017.
Their moms connected them via group text, so Sparks could talk Isaiah out of making the big move and warn him about the dangers of the industry—not to encourage them to date. However, that wasn’t God’s plan.
Sparks and Isaiah continued to chat via text message, strongly connecting over their Christian faith, according to PEOPLE. Over Easter weekend, Isaiah flew out to L.A. for an agency meeting and that’s when he met Sparks for the first time.
Sparks described their first visit as if it were love at first sight, “A couple days after we had actually met, I was like in my head ‘That’s going to be my husband! That’s my husband right there.'” She continued, “When I’m with him, I feel comfort and safety and calm and peace, and those aren’t things that I normally felt. So it was a little wake-up call for me.”
Ironically, these major life changes come shortly after Sparks had her mind set on being single. Sparks said, “It’s amazing that that phrase ‘When you don’t look for it, that’s when it comes’…he just showed up at my door.”
Sparks also turned heads in September when she wrote Bible verse, Proverbs 31:8-9, on her hand as she sang the national anthem.
It is unclear how far along Sparks is in her pregnancy, but the baby is set to arrive sometime next year. Congrats, Jordin Sparks and Dana Isaiah! Share your warm thoughts and congratulations in our Facebook comments. If you love this uplifting story, please share it on your Facebook page!
