95,000 Pounds of Popular Sausage Brand Recalled, Check Your Freezers ASAP

On Monday, a popular type of sausage products was recalled. Johnsonville recalled more than 95,000 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage products.


According to reports, 95,000 pounds of the ready-to-eat jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage products were recalled. They were contaminated with hard green plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.


Below is the product information:

14-oz film, vacuum packages containing “Johnsonville JALAPEÑO CHEDDAR Smoked Sausage” with a “Best By 06/09/2019”  date on the back of the package.

The problem was discovered after a customer complained about the hard plastic in the sausage. Thankfully, no complaints of adverse reactions have yet been received.



According to Fox News, the product had a best by date of June 9th and had the establishment number EST. 34224.

The press release said, “The problem was discovered when the company notified FSIS that they received a consumer complaint regarding hard plastic in the product.”
