Fallen Star: Johnny Depp Talks Openly About his Lost Fortune

June 21, 2018Jun 21, 2018

Please pray for Johnny Depp; he’s is in the news again, and unfortunately for the wrong reasons.

He spoke openly with Rolling Stone about the struggles in his life, his divorce and lawsuits and the sizeable fortune that slipped through his fingers through extravagant spending.

“I was as low as I believe I could have gotten,” he said after his marriage to actress Amber Heard failed. “The next step was, ‘You’re going to arrive somewhere with your eyes open and you’re going to leave with your eyes closed. I couldn’t take the pain every day.”

The 55-year-old actor married Heard in 2015 but separated in 2016. The two quibbled for months over legal issues, the actress seeking the courts for Depp to pay her $7 million, which, according to Fox News, she had pledged to a couple of charities.

According to Rolling Stone, Depp’s worth at one time was worth $650 million from films that had netted $3.6 billion. He admitted that “almost all of it is gone.”

He filed a lawsuit against his business managers claiming they mismanaged his money who, in turn, filed a counter lawsuit claiming that he was the one who made the lavish purchases.

He spent lavishly on wine, forking out thousands each month to satisfy his cravings: “It’s insulting to say I spent $30,000 on wine,” he said. “Because it was far more.”

He also said that the sum he used to shoot his close friend Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes out of a cannon in Aspen, Colorado, wasn’t $3 million, as the lawsuit alleges, but $5 million.

Depp confessed that his financial woes may be taking a toll on his kids, 19-year-old Lily-Rose and 16-year-old Jack: “My son had to hear about how his old man lost all his money from kids at school, that’s not right,” he said emotionally.

Please pray for Johnny Depp that he would find the peace he’s searching for, and for his family. Be sure to read about major news reported about Heather Locklear
