Over the past several months, famous actor Johnny Depp has been swimming deep in a major lawsuit. The actor had initiated the lawsuit against his former business managers, The Management Group (TMG).

The lawsuit was over accusations of fraud, theft, and malfeasance. Depp reportedly claimed that TMG mismanaged their business and their financial interests. Depp had previously opened up about the lawsuit and about the "mismanagement" by brothers Robert and Joel Mandel, the leaders of TMG.

Depp reported that the managers hadn't paid his taxes on time for thirteen years and that overall, it cost him $6 million. He also reported that TMG paid his sister and his assistant millions of dollars without even informing him.

Now, after over a year of working through the lawsuit, the two parties have reached a settlement.

Depp's spokesperson said, "Johnny Depp is pleased to have achieved a settlement agreement with The Management Group following the legal action he took against the company in January 2017."

They continued, "The lawsuit taken out against The Management Group- and the subsequent settlement- is a further demonstration that Johnny is determined to take firm action to protect his personal and artistic reputation in the interests of his family and his career."

Depp did admit that his spending has been out of control in recent years, and even bragged that he spent way more than TMG had accused him of. However, he said that the main financial issues was due to TMG's poor management.
