Grammy Award-winning singer John Legend is under major heat for his latest remarks against our heroes in blue. Both Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, have previously made national headlines several times in relation to their liberal-leaning, controversial views on politics.
In 2017, Legend was one of many celebrities who expressed his support for the #TakeAKnee protests in the NFL. The “All of Me” singer is also an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump.
On Monday, April 23rd, Legend sparked major backlash again when he posted on Twitter, “Please stop calling the police on black people who are just trying to live. Please. Stop. Police shoot us for no f---ing reason at all. Please. Stop.”
Conservatives criticized Legend for his anti-cop tweet including young political star Tomi Lahren. She appeared on Fox News on Wednesday to share her thoughts.
"This is the same anti-cop rhetoric that puts our police officers in danger...That's when the war on cops is reignited," Lahren said with passion. "Celebrities don’t understand the power of their words."
Others flooded Legend’s social media with condemning remarks, calling him out for not acknowledging the cops that have been killed on duty. Many also accused him of further dividing our country.

As of Wednesday morning, Legend has not responded to the criticism. If the singer does release a statement, this article will be updated accordingly.
