Podcaster Joe Rogan claims he will leave Spotify if he is forced to filter what he says.
“I will quit. If it gets to a point that I can’t do it anymore, where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s, f*ck that!” Rogan said. Rogan said, “There are more people poring over this but it’s the exact same thing.” It’s the same thing that I do.”
Rogan was almost canceled and dragged after videos of him using the “n-word” went viral. Spotify refused to drop Rogan and Rogan apologised.
Rogan stated in the video, “I know that most people don’t understand that there is any context where a white person can use that word, let alone publicly on a podcast.”
“I was also talking about how there’s not another word like it in the English language because it’s a word where only one group of people is allowed to use it — and they can use it in so many different ways,” he said added. It is toxic if used by a White person. However, a Black person can use it. It can be a punchline or a term, it could be lyrics to a song, it could be a positive affirmation.
