Joe Budden revealed that DJ Akademiks wasn’t originally supposed to sit opposite him on Everyday Struggle.
“Everyday Struggle” was supposed to have been Elliott Wilson and me. We would search for a moderator. Budden stated that that is what was supposed.
“Then Elliott called, and was like, “I don’t know if it’s possible, Joe.” I received an offer from here, so I’m moving to this area. Budden said, “I think I’m pulling out because I respect you, so I’m letting it know.”
“Then it was like, “Ok, now have a genius idea, but these shows were personality-based and that’s an chemistry thing. When you need to find chemistry, you’re in a tight spot. So Noah [Callahan-Bever]Complex, he was like, “Alright. I just start bringing people in, we will start looking at some people.” Ak was one of those people.
The chemistry between Budden, Ak made the show a big hit.
