Hollywood superstar Jodie Foster is in mourning this week after receiving news of a devastating loss. Jodie’s mother and former manager, Evelyn “Brandy” Foster, has passed away.

Not only was Brandy Foster Jodie’s mother, but she was also her manager for many years. She coached her daughter through two Academy Awards.

According to Fox News, Brandy passed away on Monday of complications from dementia. She reportedly died peacefully at her Los Angeles home at the age of 90.

Brandy originally moved to California through her gig as a big-band singer. She worked for a Hollywood publicist for a while, before turning her career attention to her children. She began managing her son, Bud, who was known for his role on the “Andy Griffith Show” spinoff, “Mayberry RFD.”

Jodie began acting in commercials at the young age of 3-years-old. For the next several decades, Brandy was her manager.

Brandy’s children, Jodie, Lucinda, Constance, and Bud wrote a statement about the sad family loss.

They wrote, “Evelyn was without a doubt the strongest person her family has ever met, a champion, a fighter, full of fire and love. No one could beat her style, all five feet tall with naturally ‘corkscrew’ hair. Her family will remember those dimple smiles and big hugs and well placed four-letter words.”

Jodie Foster’s two Oscars were for “The Accused” in 1989 and for “The Silence of the Lambs” in 1992.
