HGTV “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have had their fair share of rumors spread about them. While the couple has remained seemingly calm and unfazed in the limelight, they have been taking to social media to dispel the most recent rumors.
A rumor has been circling the internet that Joanna Gaines is starting a new business venture. Several reports hinted that the designer will be starting a beauty-based business selling skin care products.
While fans would be enthusiastic about any business venture that Joanna would start, this particular rumor left fans in dismay. This is because the rumors stated that not only would she be starting something new, she would be leaving her hit TV show in order to do it.
The rumors left fans wondering what a “Fixer Upper” world would be without co-host Joanna Gaines. Luckily, that’s a world we do not have to experience…at least for now.
Joanna recently took to her social media sites to set the record straight about these rumors. What she said has every fan of “Fixer Upper” taking a breath of fresh air.
In her recent Instagram post, Joanna wrote, “There have been rumors floating around about me leaving the show to start a skincare/makeup line. I wanted to take a minute to let y’all know that it’s simply not true. This is a SCAM! We have nothing to with it and have been trying to stop it for some time.”
Gaines also posted on her blog about the incident and why they had not addressed it yet.
She wrote, “So many things are happening right now and it feels like we are moving at the speed of light. At times, it’s even hard to keep our own parents in the loop. At this point in our career we can honestly say, we’ve heard it all- from reports of us moving our family to Vegas to us having more or less children than we actually have. At the end of the day, we’ve learned it’s impossible to control all the information that’s out there.”
She ended the posts reminding fans to be cautious of exciting news about them that is not confirmed on their official sites and reassuring the audience that she will be staying on the show. She included the hashtags #dontbuythecream and #seasonfiveiscoming and asked fans to share the posts on their own pages to help dispel the rumor.
Chip Gaines also addressed the rumor on Twitter when specific fans asked about it.
One of his followers tweeted, "Is it a hoax that Joanna has left the show Chip? Fake news out says she started her own line of skin cream? Say it ain't so!"
Chip simply responded, "It ain't so!"
